Our next monthly meeting is Thursday, February
11th, at the Northwest AEA (1520 Morningside Avenue), from
6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Our topic will be "Helping Our Children Express Love & Other Emotions." If you have

Social Skills groups will meet. Child care is
available. Music therapy will also be provided for

Parent Trainings Coming Up
Our next training session will be on Saturday, February
13, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. It will
discuss "The Ins and Outs of the IEP Process."
Another training session will be held Saturday,
March 13, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. It will focus on parents and families who are new to autism.

Autism Insurance Bill Moves Forward; Needs Your Support
SF 1, an autism insurance bill, has been scheduled for a hearing next week. The bill would require private health insurers to cover the diagnosis and
treatment of autism spectrum disorder.
It's critical to show your support now...Let Iowa legislators know that this bill means a lot to us.
